Betsy Wood: Reflecting on the Year with Appreciation

As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting back to all the happenings of this year and it was an incredible year to say the least. My heart grieves for all the families who have lost loved ones during this year, and those that have had to endure hardships and challenges that no one could foresee. My heart also is warmed by how many of those challenges and hardships brought out the best in our community. To see so many extend a helping hand to support organizations, businesses, individuals, and families through not only monetary donations, but giving of your time and filling in the gaps where needed. I see the goodness of many who are finding themselves in need but making sacrifices to help others, providing food and clothing, and supporting area businesses to keep them viable. So many volunteered to sew masks for our community, and so many kindnesses go yet unnoticed. I thank each and every one for your contribution in making this community a wonderful place to call home for all. My very best wishes to you for a very Happy Holiday season, and as we enter the new year, may we all continue in the spirit of kindness toward each other and generosity of heart.
