Teen Leaders Seek Grant Proposals

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wisconsin Rapids, WI, December 10, 2012 …  Teen Leadership – an Incourage Community Foundation program and one of only three teen leadership programs in Wisconsin – offers a unique grant opportunity for local, community-based organizations.

A $2,000 grant is available to assist with the enhancement or start-up of teen-serving programs. In recent surveys conducted by members of the Teen Leadership program, the programs identified as most helpful in addressing current teen issues included:

  • Competitive sports (not school-based)
  • Outdoor experiences, camps or challenging courses
  • “Real-life” learning experience (Examples: Baby Think It Over, drunk driving goggles)
  • Arts, Writing, or music-focus activities

Community-based organizations may apply for this grant. The program must benefit teens in greater south Wood County. The Teen Leadership program values projects that advance civility, generosity, cooperation, awareness, ability, innovation, empowerment, equity and inclusion.

Grant applications must be received by Incourage no later than noon on Friday, January 4. Decisions will be announced in March 2013.
