Board Reflections on recent Incourage changes

As we continue to adapt to meet the changing needs of the community, it is important for us to continue to keep you, our friends and supporters up to date on the changes in our organization. We remain committed to each of you, the community, and the resources entrusted to us. That commitment necessitates adapting as needed to ensure long term sustainability. As a board, we continue to work alongside staff to keep founder Virginia Brazeau’s vision, and the community’s changing needs, as our focus.

What does this mean?

Staffing:

  • Heather McKellips concluded her role as interim CEO on January 31st. Her leadership has been instrumental and we are grateful for her dedication to the work of Incourage.
  • As of February 1st, Betsy Wood began serving as the Managing Director of Incourage. She has been a valued Incourage team member for over four years and is a great asset to our organization and community. We look forward to working with Betsy in her new role.

The following services remain available and unchanged:

  • Fund management – stewardship of established funds (as well as new funds) at Incourage.
  • Scholarships – applications and awards; online application support and best practice guidance continues to be provided by International Scholarship & Tuition Services (ISTS), national experts in the field.
  • Grants – grant applications remain available on our website. Nonprofit organizations and residents may review our grant resources and complete our simplified grant inquiry form, What If or Bridge grant applications.

On the programmatic front, we continue to work to realize the Tribune Building and solidify other partnerships for the benefit of the community.  Additional updates and details may be found on the Incourage website.

Please reach out with any questions.  We welcome all opportunities to discuss the work of Incourage, and we are grateful to call this place home.

Sincerely,

Kristopher Gasch, Chair
Donna Anderson, Secretary
Dale Bikowski, Treasurer
