Celebrating 30 years: Join the $30,000 by 3-30 Campaign

Sun. Dec 31, 2023

Dear Friend,

Making philanthropy happen is fun and that may help explain how three entire decades have already flown by since Incourage was founded on November 15, 1993. That’s right! Your community foundation is turning 30!

Did you know this all started with a dream Virginia Brazeau had of creating a community foundation for the benefit of the people of the greater south Wood County area? Under the guidance of the initial Board of Directors of Virginia, Jon Barsanti and William Reiser, in March of 1994 the South Wood County Community Foundation, now known as Incourage (Community Foundation), was up and running.

Thank you, Virginia, for your vision and for acting on your dream! Thank you to all the board members, staff, volunteers, and donors who have participated along this journey to where we are today. We are sure Virginia could not have known the countless number of lives and community organizations that would be positively impacted along the way.

We challenge you also to dream boldly about your charitable aspirations. Come have a conversation with us to see how we can help you spur those dreams on to reality. One donor recently did just that…

Sharing the philanthropic wish to help your community foundation to continue the good work, this donor announced that as a way to kick off our 30th year celebration, donations up to a total of $30,000 will be generously matched to support unrestricted contributions to Incourage’s work, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, now through March 30th of 2024.

We invite you to join the $30,000 by 3-30 campaign to help further ensure Incourage’s community-building work continues well into the future.  We are so thankful for each of you and appreciate contributions of any size.

We send you our best wishes.

  • About Incourage

Established in rural Wisconsin in 1994 to serve the changing needs of the south Wood County area, Incourage has become a nationally-recognized leader in place-based philanthropy and community development. Guided by values of equity, opportunity, and shared stewardship, Incourage envisions a community that works well for all people. One physical manifestation of this vision is the redevelopment of the Tribune building, which demonstrates Incourage’s user-centered approach to growing a strong and inclusive local economy.
