FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wisconsin Rapids, WI, January 3, 2012 … Beginning January 1, 2012, Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County has changed its name to Incourage Community Foundation.
The name change comes following research that revealed that residents believed the name Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County needed to better describe the Foundation’s work, was too long and didn’t feel inclusive.
The Community Foundation, with help from our national funding partners, asked one of the nation’s most creative naming and branding experts – Dan Pallotta of Advertising for Humanity, to help. The name Incourage Community Foundation was a favorite from the start.
“Our new name speaks both to the action of encouraging others, and the attitude of being courageous,” said CEO Kelly Ryan Lucas, emphasizing, “Changing our name doesn’t mean that we’re changing our service area, mission or goals. We are extending an invitation to more people to become involved.”
There are numerous areas where Incourage is dedicated to helping the community grow, including:
Pallotta, who spoke at the Foundation’s annual meeting in August, urged the audience to embrace the idea of risk-taking and courageous leadership, saying, “America needs some town, somewhere, to show that we can do great things again. And maybe that town is right here … I look forward to all the amazing things that you and Incourage Community Foundation will find together.”
