The School at Altenburg’s Farm is now a registered 501(c)3 with a board of directors. Currently, the educational emphasis is a formal youth apprentice program in agriculture and farm experience for students 14-19 years of age. Development of curriculum opportunities throughout the K – 12 school levels is also planned.
In January 2017, Incourage announced a $25,000 match through the Ruth B. and Hartley B. Barker Memorial Fund for Youth to support start-up expenses for The School. Thanks to our community’s generosity and support, the full match was realized. Residents investing their time, talents and resources are helping bring Harold’s vision to life, and will ensure the future success of this community asset.
