FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wisconsin Rapids, WI, November 7, 2013 … Teen Leadership – an Incourage Community Foundation program and one of only three teen leadership programs in Wisconsin – offers a unique grant opportunity for local, community-based organizations.

A $2,000 grant is available to assist with the enhancement or start-up of teen-serving programs. In recent surveys conducted by members of the Teen Leadership program, the programs identified as most helpful in addressing current teen issues included:

  • Programs that explore jobs and career options or job preparation
  • “Real-life” learning experience (Examples: Baby Think It Over, drunk driving goggles)

Community-based organizations may apply for this grant. The program must benefit teens in greater south Wood County. The Teen Leadership program values projects that advance civility, generosity, cooperation, awareness, ability, innovation, empowerment, equity and inclusion.

Grant applications must be received by Incourage by noon on Friday, December 13. Decisions will be announced in March 2014. Download an application form online here, by calling 715.423.3863, or by stopping at Incourage, 478 E Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.
